Biological Microscopes

The Olympus DP25 digital camera for microscopes might not be recognized on a PC with WindowsXP SP3 installed. You can find whether this applies to your camera as described below. Thank you for your understanding.

Target products

Those DP25 digital cameras for microscopes whose serial numbers are between 50000001 and 50000499 (inclusive).

How to identify applicable products

Please check the serial number on the label on the rear surface of the DP25 camera head. (See Figure 1.)
The serial number is indicated beneath the barcode.

Phenomenon

A DP25 that works properly on a WindowsXP SP2 PC, may not be recognized by the device manager after installing WindowsXP SP3.

Factors

Since some DP25 cameras are not compatible with the new IEEE1394 device driver provided by WindowsXP SP3, these products cannot be detected by the device manager.

Countermeasures

If you are using one of the applicable products as specified above, please use it with WindowsXP SP2.

If you need to use this product with WindowsXP SP3, please download the modification tool and apply it to your WindowsXP SP3 environment, then your DP25 will be detected.
